Choosing a location

So I'm trying to figure out where we're going to have this thing. Oakville, Paris (ON), or Waterloo?

There's my aunt's house in Oakville, but that option is pretty much out due to lack of space. It's too bad, because it's really quite pretty.


Then there's Jeff's parents' backyard in Paris, but the darn tent, table, linen, chair, flatware, glassware, place setting, etc. rentals are killing my budget! I'm trying to figure out if a cocktail reception will put things back on track :D


And finally, we're also considering Club Willowells in Waterloo. Neither of us has any kind of attachment to this location, which is why it's my last choice, but it might be the easiest choice in the end...

Decisions, decisions -- what are we going to do?

Budgeting blues

So I spent most of last night calculating the costs for an outdoor wedding in Jeff's parents' backyard... and came out way over budget. Crap.

That, and I got a reply from a caterer I'd emailed -- one that specializes in outdoor BBQs -- and his entire message was:

Regrets; budget not feasible.

Ok, that's depressing...

I was totally sold on the idea of having our wedding in Jeff's parents' backyard, even excited about the planning, and now it looks like we won't be able to afford it :(

Fun with graphics editors

I was fiddling around with some web templates today and decided to see what kind of fun, wedding-related graphic I could come up with...

I'm not sure if I'll use this anywhere, but it looks neat for now!

So I've invited Jeff to "join the team" and start posting on our blog.

Let's get this party started

Alright, my first journey into blogging -- I have a feeling this could become addictive...

My original intention was to see if Google had a free web-hosting feature: GoogleWebs, how sweet would that be? And the plan was to build a wedding website where Jeff, my fiancé, and I could post info, pictures, and more details about our wedding.

[Yes sweetie, I'm a geek and you're a geek-lover :p]

But... since Google doesn't appear to offer free personal websites (yet), I thought I'd try a blog.

We'll see how this goes!
