Ugh... chairs

Who knew renting chairs for the ceremony would be so complicated?!

Well, actually, it's not the renting part that's complicated -- it's the "what do we do with them afterwards?" part that's causing the problem.

Basically, the rental companies are only open until 5:00 pm on Saturdays and they're closed Sundays. So we can get the chairs, but then we need to find someone (preferably not attending the wedding) who can take them down after the ceremony, transport them somewhere, and store them until Monday morning...

Anybody know someone with a truck or mini-van with some time to kill on a Saturday night?!

  • Jen - thanks to you I actually got bitten by the marriage bug AGAIN! I went to the ATM at a convenience store this morning and saw these magazines and had to have one! Silly but I picked the one with a not so great cover just because it had big huge letters saying "Bridal Budget" on it! I'm such a dork!

I'm the most prepared non-engaged person I know!

  • Lol -- which magazine was it? Of all the magazines, my favourite is... *gulp*... Martha's. I'm SO not a Martha fan, but Martha Stewart Weddings knows what they're doing! Now if only had a gazillion dollars, 1200 carnations, and no life I could make that "floral cake stand" Martha's raving about... yeah right! But the colour palettes, invitation ideas, and other articles are pretty darn good :D

As for a bridal budget -- check out the KW Wedding Ring budget. You can download and modify to your heart's content, it's great and geared toward the actual prices in this area (although I don't know where you can find an officiant for $100, try $250 minimum!).

Oh, and Jeff took our budget one step further and created separate "food" and "booze" sheets that list all of the food/booze items offered at the Walper. I just enter the quantity of an item in one column and "poof!" the spreadsheet auto-calculates the cost -- including the EXACT tax and gratuity, we're talking like 1.3105 -- the number of servings, the servings per person, the total cost, and the cost per person. Oh yeah, AND it then automatically updates the master budget (separate sheet) with the new food/booze costs. It's insane -- I love my crazy Engineer!

  • Lol!

Oh I saw this neat little idea that one couple had in that magazine, for those of us that want more people rather than free booze...

    A signature drink!

This way, you can include wine on the table and then a special drink that everyone can have (say a margarita or something) and if they want something else they pay for it. I thought that was a great idea and when James and I are talking about things again, I'll have to bring it up. Only issue for me is, what awesome drink would be worthy of being our signature drink???

Oh yeah.... need that damn ring again! Galldangit! That little detail keeps getting in the way!!!!

Oh well, it's still nice living vicariously through you!
